OCTOBER 05, 2007
Please forgive the primitive award graphics, but I don't have the photo editor program here in BC, that I used back in Ontario.

The October Trivia Pages are ready, you can access them from the jump menu here.
Of special note, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I have dedicated one page to this most important issue.
As well, included with the Breast Cancer Awareness page, is another page, entitled "My Story", which you can link from there.
I invite you to share personal stories about yourself or loved ones who have been touched by this incredibly terrible disease. I will be featuring the "My Story" page each week with the newsletter, for the month of October.
From Pat's Journal:
I now have a new room mate, his name is Max, and he's 15 years old. However, that's in dog years, you see Max is Jack Russell Terrier.
How I came to get Max was through the Welcomce Wagon Lady, Diana. when she came to visit, I mentioned that I was looking for a dog. She told me that her neighbour, Ethel was dying, and not expected to live much longer. She continued saying Ethel had a dog, and she would inquire as to what they were going to do with him.
On Monday Diana called me saying that Ethels condition had worsened, and was I still interested in taking her dog? I said sure, then she asked if she could come over right away! Boy I was surprised by that.
So, a short while later, Diana showed up with her neighbour's dog, and Ethel's caregiver, Regina, and all of the dogs's wordly belongings which consisited of his water & food dish, some canned food, a chew bone, ball, and his coat. And, of course Max.
When it was time to leave Regina, got extremely emotional, saying she had gotten closer to Max in the two years she was Ethel's caregivier, than she had to Ethel.
I gave her my number, and told her she could call, and come back and see Max, anytime she wanted. I also assured her, that I would give Max a loving home, and would care for him as he had been before.
Then they left, and now Max and I are getting to know each other.

October's the month
When the smallest breeze
Gives us a shower
Of autumn leaves.
Bonfires and pumpkins,
Leaves sailing down -
October is red
And golden and brown.
